If you have been helped - here's how you can help us: a donation or shop through 'our' portal.

We deal with thousands of enquiries every year from patients suffering from shingles or cold sores and even more from those newly diagnosed with genital herpes. We are a small charity: our income comes mainly from the people we help, plus a small grant from the Department of Health. We could help more people if we had a larger income. This is where you can help. Any donation, large or small, will be put to good use.

To give by phone, please call 'Jackie or Nigel' between 10.00am and 6.00pm (UK time), Monday to Friday on (0)20 7607 9661 and make a donation using Mastercard, VISA or Switch/Maestro. We also accept CAF charity cheques.

To give by post, cheques should be made payable to ‘HVA’ and sent to us at 41 North Road, London N7 9DP.

Your credit or debit card will show a payment to "SPHERE" with no mention of the 'h' word.

Gift Aid As a UK income tax payer if you tick the Gift Aid box as you checkout and we can claim back from the taxman 28p on every qualifying £1. It will not cost you anything and you don't have to list it on your income tax return.


Make money for us painlessly while you shop online! Sounds too good to be true - it isn't!

If you ALREADY shop online, you can help a good cause at NO EXTRA COST from purchases you would make anyway? This is all you have to do:

  • Go to Easy Fundraising
  • Register your details on the site - it's free
  • Choose Shingles Support Society as 'your charity'. This is our sub group - you don't put 'herpes'.
  • Click on a company - and shop

You can choose from over 400 high street names such as AA, Amazon, Asda, Comet through to Majestic Wine and on to Whittards, Woolworths, Yahoo and Yves Rocher. For example, spend £25 with WH Smith and 3.5% will be donated. You will have raised £0.88, at no extra cost to your purchase. Make any purchase from Woolworths and 2.5% will be donated. Insure your car with The AA and raise £30.00, or purchase a mobile phone from Vodafone and earn £29.00, and so on.

A percentage of what you spend will go to the Shingles Support Society (SSS) - you don't have to use the word herpes when you register. This doesn't cost you a penny - the benefit is all ours. More money for the SSS means more money for your charity, the HVA.
